The Chemung County Nursing Facility will undergo scheduled maintenance on April 22, 2025, to replace a generator switch. The work will lead to intermittent power outages throughout the building, starting at 5:00 a.m. and expected to be completed by late afternoon.

During the maintenance, temporary disruptions to power-dependent services, including lighting, phones, and elevators, will occur at estimated times. These timeframes might shift depending on how the repairs progress.

To ensure the safety and comfort of residents, the facility will increase staffing and fully implement emergency protocols. Staff members are prepared to meet all resident needs during this period.

In case telephone services are interrupted, communication will be accessible through an alternate number: 607-481-5503. Communication with residents and family members listed as emergency contacts will be maintained and updated throughout the day as more precise timing is available.

"We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our residents, families, and staff as we work to maintain and improve the safety and reliability of our facility’s infrastructure."

For further information, the facility can be contacted at 607-737-2001 or through the alternative communication line mentioned above.

Christopher J. Moss, the Chemung County Executive, informed about the maintenance schedule and expressed gratitude to all involved parties.
