84 percent of applicants to Elmira College were admitted for fall 2018

At Elmira College, 89 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 68 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Elmira enrolled 892 students in fall 2018, including 819 in undergraduate and 73 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

60 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 35 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (74 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (5 percent).

The school admitted 84 percent of the 2,110 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 12 percent enrolled.
