More students graduated from Chemung County schools in 2021-22 school year

Graduation rates in Chemung County schools rose 0.1% from the previous school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

There were 2,306 students who graduated in the 2021-22 school year, compared to 2,349 in the previous year.

Chemung County had the state's eighth lowest graduation rate with just 85.1% graduating, while Nassau County boasted the highest rate, with 95.3% of students graduating in the 2021-22 school year.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
