Assemblyman Joseph Angelino (R,C-Norwich) today reacted to the Assembly’s One-House Budget that was proposed by Albany’s Majority. This is the Assembly Majority’s proposed budget, released in response to the governor’s executive budget proposal. The Assembly Majority has proposed a whopping $245.8 billion state budget.

"As always, there were both good things and bad things in this budget proposal. For the good, I am glad the Majority agreed the governor’s cut to foundation aid for school districts is a non-starter. Also, in the Assembly budget proposal, CHIPS highway funding is restored. But this is Albany, so of course there was some bad," expressed Angelino.

"The budget proposed by the Assembly Majority contains a treasure trove of progressive programs that will do nothing but flush New York’s economy down the drain. These include raising taxes, which will only drive more New Yorkers out of the state, as well as allocating millions for asylum seekers," Angelino further commented.

"Again, I can take solace knowing the Legislature pushed back against the governor's decision to cut foundation aid for schools, but this does not make up for the otherwise disastrous budget that was put forth," Angelino concluded.
