U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) released a statement regarding U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona’s visit to Ulster County and the Hudson Valley, where discussions focused on career pathway programs and community colleges.
"It’s great to see the Secretary of Education take an interest in Ulster County and the Hudson Valley. It’s absolutely essential that we place an emphasis on workforce development, vocational education, and growing partnerships with registered apprenticeship programs and organized labor – giving our students the opportunity to succeed and build their futures right here in New York," Molinaro stated.
He added, "As the Department of Education examines our local needs, I’d also encourage them to focus on growing pathways to employment for students with disabilities, so every student, of every ability, has the ability to succeed."
Molinaro emphasized that education and workforce development are not partisan issues. "Education and workforce development isn’t a Republican versus Democrat issue. So I’m eager to collaborate on this effort to create opportunities and uplift Ulster County and the Hudson Valley region.”
