U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) announced that Delaware Opportunities Inc., based in Hamden, has been selected to receive the 2024 Angels in Adoption Award for New York’s 19th Congressional District. The organization provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to children from low-income families in Delaware County. In June, they inaugurated the first Child Advocacy Center in Delaware County.

The Angels in Adoption Award is administered by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI), a nonpartisan organization focused on improving the lives of children and families across the United States. The recognition celebrates individuals and organizations contributing to the development and well-being of children and youth within their communities. Award recipients are invited to Washington D.C. to celebrate with their member of Congress, participate in roundtable discussions with peers nationwide, and receive advocacy training.
