U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19) hosted a listening session in Binghamton, New York, bringing together local elected leaders, business owners, stakeholders, and representatives from Fortune 500 companies as part of his 'Broome's Next Chapter' initiative. The event took place at Rapid Deployable Systems and focused on the priorities major employers consider when investing in a community, such as location, access to transportation, relationships with local businesses, and educational facilities for workforce development programs.
The session featured participation from representatives of Lockheed Martin, Micron, BAE Systems, Broome County's Executive Office, the President of the Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, and the President of Universal Instruments in Conklin. Rep. Molinaro led the discussion and fielded questions from local business owners and officials. Participants provided insights into efforts Broome County can undertake to attract employers and support sustainable commercial, manufacturing, agricultural, and housing development.
Rep. Molinaro stated: "When launching 'Broome's Next Chapter' I wanted everyone to be a part of the discussion. During this listening session, we had the opportunity to hear from some of the largest companies in the country. Companies who have brought prosperity back to towns like Binghamton. This conversation served as valuable insight to drive our next chapter of success for Broome."
