Chemung County announces second public workshop for comprehensive plan

Chemung County has announced the second public workshop for its Comprehensive Plan, Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan, and Long-Range Transportation Plan. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnot Mall Event Center in Horseheads.

The workshop aims to present progress on these plans since the initial public meeting. Key findings from focus groups and other engagement activities will be shared, and public input on draft goals and strategies will be sought. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on preliminary recommendations and priority projects.

"We're excited to share our progress and gather more input from our community," said Kevin Meindl, Chemung County Planning Commissioner. "These plans will shape the future of our county, and we want to ensure they reflect the needs and aspirations of all our residents."
