Chemung County schedules public hearing on salary increase for officials

The Chemung County Legislature has presented Introductory Local Law No. 6 for the Year 2024, which proposes an increase in salary for elected officials and certain appointed officials with fixed terms in Chemung County. This law was introduced on December 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.

A public hearing regarding this proposed law will be conducted by the County Executive. The hearing is scheduled to take place on December 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., in the second-floor conference room of the Hazlett Building located at 203 Lake Street, Elmira, New York.

Interested parties and citizens are invited to attend this hearing as prescribed by General Municipal Law to express their views and concerns about the proposed local law. A copy of the law is available for public review at the Clerk of the Chemung County Legislature's office during regular business hours.

Christopher Moss, Chemung County Executive, announced that all individuals and interests will have an opportunity to be heard during this session.
