Assemblyman Phil Palmesano has responded to Governor Kathy Hochul's recent State of the State Address. In his statement, Palmesano expressed anticipation for more detailed information regarding the governor's plans when she presents her Executive Budget Proposal next week.
Palmesano highlighted several pressing issues he believes are currently facing New York. "One thing is for certain, our state is facing an affordability, public safety and quality-of-life crisis," he stated. He emphasized concerns over spending, taxes, inflation, energy costs, and crime, which he attributes to contributing to New York's outmigration problem.
The assemblyman assured that he and his colleagues in the Assembly Minority will continue to push for policies that focus on public safety, fiscal responsibility, job creation, economic development, affordable energy, and overall quality of life improvements for New Yorkers.
Palmesano urged Governor Hochul to address these challenges seriously with a budget proposal that aligns with fiscal responsibility and addresses the financial struggles of families and businesses across the state. He called for bipartisan cooperation in tackling these critical issues during the upcoming legislative session.
