The Guthrie Clinic has been included in Becker's Healthcare 2024 list of "Simulation and Education Programs to Know." This recognition highlights organizations that are committed to enhancing their workforce and service lines through innovative education and simulation initiatives.
Guthrie received this acknowledgment for its Simulation and Advanced Skills Institute (SASI) located at Robert Packer Hospital. SASI is a cutting-edge multidisciplinary training facility that supports physicians, medical and surgical residents, nurses, ancillary staff, and students. The institute aims to improve technical expertise and ensure quality patient care by using over ten advanced simulation devices outside the operating room. These tools are specifically designed to provide a more immersive and practical training experience.
SASI was one of only 64 programs named on this list, making it the sole representative from its service area. Hospitals and health systems with such simulation and education programs often see improved patient outcomes, reduced healthcare costs, and enhanced patient safety.
