Congressman Nick Langworthy, representing New York's 23rd District, expressed his support for the passage of House Concurrent Resolution 14, which the House approved by a narrow margin of 216 to 214. The resolution marks a step towards implementing economic plans aligned with former President Trump's agenda.

In his statement, Langworthy emphasized the resolution's focus on taxpayer savings by cutting waste, fraud, and abuse, while preserving key programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Langworthy remarked, "Today, the House passed the budget resolution as amended by the Senate, bringing us one step closer to implementing President Trump’s economic agenda. This bill provides a blueprint for delivering historic savings of taxpayer dollars that eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse while protecting essential programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security for those who truly need it."

Langworthy highlighted future legislative efforts to provide tax relief for working and middle-class citizens, as well as promoting job growth and reducing the national deficit. He noted, "Now that we’ve cleared these hurdles, the committees will get to work developing legislation that aligns with our goals of providing critical tax cuts for working and middle-class Americans, spurring job growth, and reducing our deficit."

Contrastingly, Langworthy criticized the Democratic party for allegedly obstructing and spreading misinformation regarding budget cuts. He asserted that the implementation of economic policies is already yielding benefits, citing falling inflation and energy prices alongside an encouraging March jobs report. According to Langworthy, "While the Democrats have spent their time obstructing, lying, and misleading the public about cuts, we are already seeing the positive results of the President’s economic agenda with inflation and energy prices dropping and a March jobs report that exceeded expectations. Today’s vote gives us the momentum we need to keep building toward our new Golden Age."
