We are hiring! At the Broome County Department of Planning we are passionate about making Broome County a great place to live, work and play for all of our residents. We are currently looking for a Planner with a focus in Housing and Community Development.
This is an entry level position in the department. The Planner will assist senior staff with the management of active housing, community development, and community services efforts. Specific projects and programs that the Planner may lead or have a role in include:
- Assist senior staff in development and implementation of the Broome County Housing Study
- Administration and coordination of Broome County’s efforts under the NYS Shared Services Initiative
- Assist senior staff in management of the Broome County Small Community Fund grant program.
- Planning and analysis related to housing, community development, and community services.
- Work with other Planning staff and partners on initiatives related to Housing and Community Development.
- Work with the community stakeholders and partners as needed.
Monitor Federal, State and local policy rules and regulations related to relevant issues.
- Prepare and review various reports and plan components related to relevant issues.
- Research, apply and monitor grants related to program and project implementation.
