The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care will host several Senior Farmers Market Coupon distribution events. The schedule for these events, where coupon books must be picked up in person or via a completed Proxy* form, is listed below. A Power of Attorney (POA) can also collect the coupons on behalf of an eligible senior upon presenting valid POA documentation.

Eligibility for the Farmers Market coupons is as follows:

- $2,322/month for a one-person household

- $3,152/month for a two-person household

- $3,981/month for a three-person household

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is overseen by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Office for the Aging, and Cornell Cooperative Extension. The program's objective is to support local farmers by increasing their sales at farmers' markets and farm stands while promoting healthy communities through the consumption of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables.

Coupons will be distributed to all who meet age and income requirements while supplies last. Each booklet contains five coupons worth $5 each ($25 total), which can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers' markets throughout New York State. Coupons will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information, please call 607-737-5520.

*An eligible senior may designate a Proxy to pick up his/her booklet by completing a Proxy form and Statement of Eligibility in advance.

**The distribution schedule is subject to change based on coupon availability.
