Congressman Nick Langworthy has announced a $4.6 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant for the Village of Watkins Glen aimed at improving water infrastructure and increasing water capacity for the local business community.
“Watkins Glen is a vital part of our community, and this substantial investment in its water infrastructure is crucial for our future growth,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Supporting economic development in rural areas will ensure that small businesses can continue to create jobs while also bolstering the quality of life for hard-working families. I will always fight to ensure that Watkins Glen gets a fair shake and the resources they need to succeed for generations to come.”
According to the EDA, this grant will support the rehabilitation of Watkins Glen’s water storage tank and pump station, replacement of water lines, and other necessary water infrastructure improvements needed to increase capacity. The grant will be matched with $4.6 million in local funds and is expected to create or retain 120 jobs.
