Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy expressed his support for Electrovaya's recent announcement of a $50.8 million loan from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The funding will assist in the development of a new battery manufacturing facility in Jamestown, New York.

“I’m proud to welcome Electrovaya to Jamestown,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This major investment will bring over 250 good-paying jobs and establish our region as a leader in advanced manufacturing. This is a big win for our economy, and I’ll keep working to bring lasting growth and opportunity to Western New York and the Southern Tier."

Electrovaya plans to produce its proprietary Infinity lithium-ion ceramic cells at the new facility. Commercial shipments are expected to begin in early 2026, with more than 250 jobs being created as a result. The company has stated that the plant will be powered by clean, renewable energy and aims to produce what it claims are the longest-lasting and safest lithium-ion cells.
