U.S. Representative Marc Molinaro has called for the resignation of FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell. This demand came after a House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee hearing where Molinaro questioned Criswell.
Molinaro expressed dissatisfaction with Criswell's responses during the hearing, stating, "My breaking point came today when FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell couldn’t affirm under questioning that her agency puts Americans first." He further criticized the agency under her leadership for allegedly prioritizing certain groups over others, claiming it avoided assisting Trump supporters and redirected taxpayer funds through nonprofits to support illegal immigrants.
The congressman also raised concerns about FEMA's request for an additional $100 billion in disaster relief funding. He voiced skepticism about how these funds would be allocated under Criswell's management, stating, "With Criswell at the helm, I have zero confidence this money would go to the Americans who need it most."
Molinaro concluded his remarks by asserting that a change in leadership is necessary at FEMA.
