State Senator Tom O'Mara announced that joint Senate-Assembly hearings on Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed 2025-2026 New York State budget will continue with a focus on transportation. The hearings began this week and are part of a monthlong schedule to review the governor's budget proposals.
Today's hearing, which covers Health/Medicaid, is available for viewing starting at 9:30 AM. Archived videos of each session will be accessible after the hearings conclude.
The Legislature’s fiscal committees will receive testimony from Hochul administration officials, state agency heads, local leaders, and representatives from various stakeholders affected by the state's annual budget.
"Senate Republicans will continue to be a voice for lower taxes, less regulation, greater accountability, affordability, economic growth, job creation, and more common sense on state fiscal practices," said O’Mara. He emphasized the importance of these hearings in shaping policies that impact local communities and economies. O'Mara represents the 58th Senate District, which includes Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Yates counties, and part of Allegany County.
