U.S. Representative Marc Molinaro has announced that a bipartisan bill he authored has become law, with six others on the path to enactment. Since his arrival in Congress, Molinaro has successfully passed nine standalone bills and 60 bipartisan measures, with 18 of these signed into law. He is recognized as the second most bipartisan member of Congress by the Lugar Center and ranks highly for bills passed both in the House and overall in Congress.
The "Think DIFFERENTLY About Emergencies Act" is now law, ensuring resources for Americans with disabilities during natural disasters. The "Think DIFFERENTLY Transportation Act," which mandates Amtrak's compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), has cleared both legislative chambers and awaits presidential approval within ten days.
The "Amtrak Executive Bonus Disclosure Act," requiring public disclosure of taxpayer-funded bonuses to Amtrak executives, has passed the House. Additionally, the "Think DIFFERENTLY Building Accessibility Act," part of the Water Resources Development Act, aims to enhance federal building accessibility for individuals with disabilities and is expected to be enacted soon.
Two other measures by Molinaro are included in the National Defense Authorization Act, focusing on assessing biological threats against the U.S. and identifying gaps in the Department of Defense’s AI workforce. These are anticipated to become law.
The "Think DIFFERENTLY Database Act" seeks to establish a national website connecting individuals with disabilities to local support services. It has passed the House and is likely to pass the Senate before year-end.
Rep. Molinaro stated his commitment: "I’m working until my final day in office to solve problems for Upstate New Yorkers." He emphasized improvements in accessibility and national security through these bipartisan efforts.
Senator Schmitt expressed support for the Think DIFFERENTLY Database Act: "My son, Stephen, was my inspiration... I look forward to pushing this important piece of legislation across the finish line in the Senate."
Rep. Sherrill also supported this act: “This critical piece of legislation will make it easier to coordinate and find high-quality care... I urge the Senate to take this bill up for a vote.”
Senator Duckworth commented on transportation accessibility: “After passing... I’m proud that... [the] Think DIFFERENTLY Act... is now closer to being signed into law.”
