Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy announced that the Town of Hamburg will receive a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) amounting to $1,172,559.72. This funding is allocated under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act and is intended for permanent repairs following damages caused by Winter Storm Elliott.
"I am thrilled Hamburg is receiving these needed funds to help repair their Town Park facilities that were damaged as a result of Winter Storm Elliott," stated Congressman Nick Langworthy. "Winter Storm Elliott devastated communities across Western New York and the Southern Tier and I will continue to work non-stop with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and with federal officials to get resources back to NY-23."
The grant from FEMA will be used specifically for repairing severe damage at the town park, including issues with the jetty, floating dock pilings, catch basin covers, and driveway. These repairs are crucial for eliminating threats to public health and safety.
Congressman Nick Langworthy serves New York's 23rd Congressional District, which includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga Counties, as well as parts of Erie and Niagara Counties.
