Union-Endicott Central School District issued the following announcement on July 22.
Bryan Tran, UEHS Class of 2017 graduate, was recently selected as an ACTFL Scholar through the Center for Assessment, Research and Development.
ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) is a nationally recognized organization that provides language educators with innovation, vision, and leadership in the teaching of foreign languages. This summer, Bryan is conducting research on how integrating social media into the world language classroom can influence interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication. In addition, he will be gathering resources for language teachers to use in their classroom, which can help guide students to proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the target language.
“Bryan continues to make us proud,” said UEHS Italian Teacher Amalia Roma-Circensi. “I know that this aspiring French educator will make the most out of this opportunity, and what he learns will be beneficial to his future students.” Bryan is currently at Le Moyne College, studying French and adolescent education.
