Chenango Forks Central School District issued the following announcement on Nov 17.
In recognition of November's OLWEUS word — gratitude — students and staff at Chenango Forks Elementary created a special tree that displays what they all are grateful and thankful for. The tree is now on display in the main hallway near the auditorium and features paper leaves. Each leaf includes a word or phrase describing what students and staff are thankful for.
Many mentioned their family, friends and pets.
"I am greatful for a lot of things but I am really greatful to have a life where I don't have to worry about everything," one leaf reads.
All teachers in the school were given leaves for their students to fill out. Remote teachers asked their students what they would like on the leaves, and those were written by staff.
The tree was created by Susan Malejs, leaves were created by Marta Kurcin and Nichole Cusak dreamed up the idea.
Thank you to all who helped create this special tree!
