UNION-ENDICOTT CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT: Students give during the holidays

Gifts(1000)

Union-Endicott Central School District issued the following announcement on Dec 24.

Each month, AGM promotes a character trait, and December was compassion.

AGM Student Council decided they wanted to show compassion by making homemade cards for the Veterans Home in Oxford, NY, and collect hygiene and paper products for the Veterans facility in Binghamton. To promote the project, student council made posters that hung in the school, made reminder announcements every day, and organized a flier distribution for remote and hybrid students. This encouraged everyone at AGM and their families to show compassion to help our local veterans.

As the donations rolled in, students organized them and collected the cards all to be sent to veterans residing in the homes. Due to the storm, student members were unable to be there to give the collected donations. Jeffery W. Largue, Commander for Chapter #60 for the Disabled American Veterans, came to AGM to pick up the donations to take to the veteran’s facility in Binghamton. The cards were delivered to the Oxford home as well.

Thank you to all who made this possible and to our student council members for their work and efforts in encouraging their fellow AGM classmates to show Compassion!
