Guthrie has announced the opening of its new Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus, set to welcome patients on December 9. The 32,000 square foot facility will initially provide imaging, lab, walk-in, and expanded primary care services at a clinic named after Deborah and Stephen Geibel.

Marie Darling, Senior Director of Guthrie Medical Group's Northern Region, emphasized the importance of primary care providers. "The relationship that is built with a primary care provider assists in achieving health goals and is the gateway to preventative screenings and specialty care services needed along the way," she stated.

Starting in spring 2025, the campus will expand to include specialty services such as orthopedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pain management. A telemedicine hub will also be established to enhance virtual access to Guthrie experts.

Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO of The Guthrie Clinic, highlighted the organization's commitment to rural healthcare. "Through generous gifts such as Nick’s," he said referring to Nicholas Renzi's contribution, "we’re able to set the standard for rural health care across the nation by delivering innovative, compassionate, and accessible medical services tailored to the unique needs of rural communities."

Nicholas Renzi expressed his support for the project: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to support this new health campus project.”

David McNeil from McNeil Development Company praised community collaboration in developing local resources. “We have got to continue working together to provide the resources that make a community healthy,” he noted.

The new facility is also recognized as a NYS Clean Heat facility for its energy-efficient design aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
