Congressman Nick Langworthy recently paid tribute to Don Postles, a veteran journalist retiring after nearly 50 years in the field. The recognition took place on the House floor, highlighting Postles' significant contributions to journalism and his community involvement.

Langworthy's speech emphasized Postles' long-standing presence in Western New York media, noting his career began in 1976. He spent time at Channel 7 and Channel 2 before dedicating 32 years to WIVB-TV (Channel 4). Langworthy stated, "Don has been a trusted voice and a constant presence in the lives of Western New Yorkers."

Postles was praised for his integrity and commitment to truth in journalism. Langworthy remarked on his ability to provide clarity during chaotic times and maintain professionalism whether reporting tragic events or celebrating local victories. "Don embodies the very best of journalism: honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the truth," Langworthy said.

Beyond his professional achievements, Postles was recognized for his active role in the community. His participation in charity events and support for local causes were highlighted as part of his legacy. Langworthy expressed that Western New York will feel Postles' absence from evening broadcasts but acknowledged the lasting impact he leaves behind.

Langworthy concluded by wishing Postles well in retirement, encouraging him to enjoy personal interests such as spending time with family and engaging with the Buffalo community he has long served.
